Holidays hairstyle idea: the chic, messy updo

It doesn’t take more than 15 minutes to do this hairstyle and you don’t need special hairstyling products either. Just a bit of dexterity and a bit of imagination, some hairspray and a flat or curling iron. I chose to add a pearl necklace for a more festive look that will look great on Christmas or New Years Eve. The idea is so simple and I’m really considering doing a tutorial because I love the way this updo looks.

First thing, you have to section your hair in half. The bottom half goes up in a messy bun to create a base for the updo, while the other half must be teased to form that bouffant volume. Then all you have to do is take lock by lock and secure it with booby pins around the bun-base you’ve previously created. I kept two strains of hair to frame my face and quickly curled them with a flat iron. The final touch, clipping the necklace on the line that divides the teased volume and the curly, loose locks.

Voilà!
