Effortless Chic | Weekend outfit

I can’t tell if it’s the fact that Paris has been the fashion capital for the past century, or maybe it’s just a french thing, but when you hear the term ‘effortless chic’ you definetely have in mind the image of french women who master the art of dressing chic and looking sophisticated with no effort and under any circumstance. My outfit got me thinking about this aspect, but I kept my trademark boho touch when choosing its items. And afterall, that’s what I was going for, a spontaeous look, easy but chic in the same time, perfect for the weekend.

I became curious and did a little digging. Although it may sound as a contradiction, because being chic means you have to put in some effort, this style, or more well said, this quality, comes so natural, that even if you tried to imitate their look it still wouldn’t be the same. Just look at the french glossy magazines editors, not even during fashion week you won’t see them adopting elaborate looks, but still look like a million bucks. Minimal, always tailored impecable and withouth any artifice, their effortless looks come like a breathe of fresh air in a sea of studied, copied, crowded or just kitch looks that are supposed to form a street style on our romanian streets.

So, at least for the weekend, let’s just resume to 3 items to construct a casual, natural, à la parisienne outfit, adding your persnal touch of course. I chose a buttercream, undone hem, a baby blue shirt and a pair of nude, fringe sandals.
