That is how my morning began, though if you follow me on FACEBOOK you already read that fragment. It’s raining heavily here, but maybe so is where you are,  maybe you’ll understand my mood perfectly. I love the rain but I hate it too, it’s a love-hate relationship and today I love it. To my joy, I had a lot of activities planned for today that I had to cancel because of the bad wether. Joyfull because I woke up a tad laizy and tired after the my hubby’s birthday bash this weekend. Instead of today’s plans, the rain left me with a feeling, a mood, with it’s specific smell and dampness, with countless puddles and raindrops angrily hitting my camera. It’s obvious, there’s no point in holding it in my hands, I’ll take one more snap of the puddles in front of me, I put the lens lid back on and throw it in my bag.

Asa a inceput dimineata mea, insa daca ma urmariti pe FACEBOOK ati citit deja fragmentul acesta. Ploua si bag de seama ca nu doar la mine, asa ca imi veti intelege perfect starea de spirit. Ador ploaia, insa o si urasc, avem o relatie de tip love-hate, dar astazi o iubesc. Aveam in plan multe activitati pentru ziua de azi, insa ploaia mi le-a stricat spre bucuria mea, caci tare lenesa m-am trezit dupa cheful de sambata noaptea cand am sarbatorit ziua lui Andreas (hubby). In schimbul planurilor de azi, am ramas cu o senzatie, cu un mood, cu mirosul si umiditatea specifice unei zi ploioase, cu balti si picuri care imi lovest mahniti aparatul foto. E clar, nu are rost sa il mai tin in mana, ii pun capacul pe obiectiv, mai pozez o data baltile din fata mea si il arunc in geanta.

 Days like these make me miss Summer so much; I’m not tired of the rain but I’m tired of the cold, tired of dry, shriveling skin, lifeless hair and chopped lips. I know, you miss it too and it’s sort of close, but I also know you are scared of loosing your oversized sweaters, coats, and long trousers, in favor of shorts, skirts, sleeveless tops and bathing suits. Every Spring I fight this fear by slowly introducing more healthy habits in my everyday routine, whether it’s the diet, the excercise or the relaxation.  With such a rainy day, I thought I’d write you a few words and tips on my dailty healthy routine that will get me ready for Summer, mentally and phisically, because there is no purpose in looking good if you have a bad vibe.

 Zile ca acestea ma fac sa imi fie dor de vara, de caldura, nu m-am saturat de ploaie insa m-am saturat teribil de frig, de piele uscata si zgribulita, de par lipsit de viata si buze crapate. Stiu si voua va e dor si nu mai trebuie sa asteptam mult, dar stiu si ca priviti cu teama ziua cand puloverele largi, paltoanele oversized si pantalonii lungi nu iti vor mai veghea ziua, ci fustele scurte, topurile fara maneci si mai ales costumul de baie, te asteapta nerabdatoare. In fiecare primavara, combat aceasta teama, incepand usor, usor, sa introduc elemente healthy in rutina mea zilnica, fie ca e vorba de dieta, miscare sau relaxare. Cu o asa zi ploioasa, m-am gandit sa va scriu care sunt cele 5 activitati din rutina mea zilnica care ma pregatesc pentru vara, fizic si psihic, caci degeaba aratam bine daca suntem la pamant cu vibe-ul.

water  Drink plenty of water! Did you know that drinking at least 2l of water everyday reduces your cellulite, helps you loose weight, boosts your energy and helps you maintain a healthy, welfare being? You probably did, but I started drinking about 2-3 l of water every day for a couple of weeks now and it really shows, my cellulite is practically vanished!

Bea cat mai multa apa! Stiai ca un consum de minim 2l de apa zilnic iti reduce celulita, te ajuta sa slabesti, iti creste energia, contribuie la bunastarea ta zilnica si te mentine sanatoasa? Probabil ca da, insa eu am inceput sa beau cu strictete intre 2 si 3 litri de apa zilnic de 2 saptamani si credeti-ma, se vede! 

limo1Just like water, lemon has a lot of benefits for your body, but if you’re sick of the classic water-lemon combo, try an orange lemonade, it’s my favourite! I drink it quite often and I prefer it unsweetened, or sometimes add coconut sugar or honey, it’s a very healthy choice instead of those sugar bomb supermarket sodas.

La fel ca si apa, lamaia are nenumarate beneficii pentru organismul tau, insa pentru cei satui de combinatia de apa cu lamaie, o limonada este perfecta, mai ales acum ca se apropie zilele toride. Eu ador limonada de portocale, de preferat neindulcita, o consum destul de des, in loc de sucurile inecate in zahar din comert, sau aleg sa o indulcesc cu miere sau zahar de cocos.


I don’t know about you but I love salads, so introducing them in my everyday menu was an excellent choice for my taste buds. Not a day goes by without eating a huge salad for lunch or dinner and I’m beginning to discover more and more interesting combos. You may live with the impression that a salad won’t sufice you as a meal, but they are extremly nutritive and I love that unbloated feeling after eating it, I like to add cheese, seeds and even meat sometimes to it.

Nu stiu cum sunteti voi, insa mie imi plac salate enorm, asa ca introducerea lor in meniul meu zilnic a fost excelent primita de papilele mele gustative. Nu trece zi fara sa mananc o salata imensa la pranz sau la cina si incep sa descopar tot mai multe combinatii de verdeturi si frunze. Poate ai impresia ca nu te saturi cu o salata insa mie imi place sa adaug branzeturi, seminte si chiar carne cateodata, le consider extrem de satioase si ce imi place cel mai mult este senzatia de lejeritate dupa ce termin de mancat. Ne-am saturat de mese grele, care ne baloneaza si ingreuneaza, asa-i?

exerciseUndoubtedly, the most healthy habit is excercising, you must start doing it! Here’s a tip, it’s only hard in the beginning, afterwars you’ll be commited to the gym, the park, the stadium or your yoga matress( my case). Every person is different when it comes to sports, some love excersicing outdoors while others won’t give up the gym. I, for one, am a certified Pilates fan. I first started Pilates in my last highschool year, when I had about 10 extra kilos and remained faithful to it, though I gave it up after the first year. I now do pilates almost every day, in 20-30 min sessions, I prefer training like this rather then having 60 minutes workouts 2-3 times a week.

Indiscutabil cel mai sanatos obicei este miscarea, trebuie sa o faci! Va zic un pont, inceputul este mai greu, apoi vei fi dependenta de sala de sport, de stadion sau parc, sau de salteaua de yoga (cazul meu). Fiecare persoana are preferinte diferite cand vine vorba de miscare, daca unora le place sportul in aer liber, altii nu ar da sala pe nimic! Eu sunt fana convinsa de Pilates. L-am descoperit in ultimul an de liceu cand ma situam cu vreo 10 kg in plus fata de acum si i-am ramas fidela, desi am tot intrerupt antrenamentele. Am revenit de o luna la un program aproape zilnic de Pilates, ma simt si arat mai bine ca niciodata! Prefer sa fac zilnic, cate o sedinta de 20-30 de minute, decat sedinte de o ora de 3 ori pe saptamana, pentru mine aceasta e formula ideala atat ca timp cat si ca intensitate si recomand oricui acest tip de miscare.


I cannot end this post without thinking about the spirit, it’s obvious when it comes to our bodies, but when it comes to our minds, I suggest taking some time off, just for yourself, at least a couple of times in a week. And I’m not talking about shopping, surfing online or spending your nights in clubs. A book, some music in your speakers, a relaxing bubble bath, are few of the activities that help you loosen up, unwind, meditate, disconnect.

Si pentru ca nu pot sa inchei articolul fara sa ma gandesc si la spirit si buna dispozitie va sfatuiesc, ca macar de doua ori pe saptamana sa va acordati timp pentru voi. Nu ma refer la cumparaturi, stat pe facebook, sau intanliri cu prietenii, ci timp pentru sufletul si mintea voastra. O carte citita in varful patului cu o cana de ceai langa, putina muzica in boxe si o baie cu bule, sunt printre putinele activitati ce te ajuta sa te relaxezi, sa te desprinzi de cotidian, sa meditezi, sa iti acorzi putin time off.
